On the 2nd of October of 2026, the Bluffton Pirates suffered their first loss of the season as a result of a 26-21 score against Lima Central Catholic. This was a hard-fought battle with many twists and turns, as it was a Homecoming game located at Harmon Field in Bluffton.

The Pirates had successfully shown Lima Central Catholic who was operating the ship with a 14-0 win late into the first half, but the tide quickly changed as Lima Central Catholic shot back with 26 points. The Pirates tried to regain command of their ship but fell short to a penalty and two sacks that ultimately resulted in the unfortunate loss for the team.

It was noted that this devastating loss resulted in the Bluffton Pirates Football team going from a 6-1 win to a 3-1 win in the NWC. Bluffton also dropped from 2nd in the Div. V to 8th, followed by a region 18th.

However, despite the dreary weather and the loss, the team hopes to rebound with the Week 8 game against Crestview (2-5, 2-2 NWC) come the 9th of October.
